Athis Hair Oil

This scented hair oil is named after a young Indian demigod, Athis, son of a nymph and the river god Ganges, whose hair is said to smell of myrrh. The Ancient Romans commonly used myrrh to treat their hair. We combined this with damask rose extract and patchouli to create an aromatic conditioning oil.

"Among the throng was an Indian youth, called Athis. Limnaée, the Ganges' daughter, is thought to have given him birth in the crystal waves of the river. His wonderfully handsome looks were enhanced by his elegant clothes [...] while his hair was scented with myrrh and held in place by a circlet."

- Ovid's Metamorphoses

Other ingredient benefits include:

  • Amla Oil - reduces premature greying [1,2]
  • Brazil Nut Oil - increased gloss and reduced split ends [3]
  • Coconut Oil - decreases breakage [4]
